Are you a Victim of Crime?

A crime can have severe after effects on the victim. Weeks, even months after the event, the victim may be still experiencing emotional problems, which can lead to feelings of guilt, frustration, and anger. Casa de la Familia is dedicated to help those victims, as well as their families, who have suffered emotional injury as a result of a crime.

If you are a victim of crime, or a family member of a victim, you may be eligible to receive counseling at Casa de la Familia through the State Victim Assistance Program, Board of Control. We offer individual, family and group psychotherapy, crisis intervention, psychological testing and evaluations.

Services are available in Orange County and Los Angeles County. In case of hardship, home visits may be provided.

We treat victims of:
Human Trafficking
Domestic Violence

De Sabios y Locos Todos Tenemos Un Poco

"The material is brilliant! It is very concise and realistically portrays all points of view on the subject in a very accessible manner. I had no previous knowledge on any of those subjects, but was able to understand them perfectly. It is written in a style that is easily understandable while maintaining its educational purpose.

The play was able to inform the audience, while simultaneously engaging them in a debate so as to further connect with them. It is an ideal work to show students at all levels of education because it discusses adolescent drug addiction, violence, and alcoholism while exposing their repercussions. It entertains to the point where it successfully disguises itself, making the audience forget that it is an educational play. I congratulate Dr. Nogales on her achievement. It was a pleasurable experience."

Treatment of Victims of Sexual Slavery

As active and recognized member of the ZUR Institute, Dr. Ana Nogales has developed an online course to provide psychotherapists with the necesary information to identify and assist victims of human trafficking.

The course defines and describes the details of the human trafficking operation around the world and in the US, identifies how victims become involved and, more specifically, what they endure. Once the issue is thoroughly explicated, the course describes the victimization process, symptomatology of the sexual slavery victim, how to conduct a clinical interview, and it reviews different approaches for psychotherapy.

This course will teach psychotherapists to:

  • Explain the background and traumatic events victims of human trafficking have been forced to endure.
  • Describe the traumatic consequences of sexual slavery and how they affect the victims from a psychosocial perspective.
  • Formulate different approaches for psychological treatment to assist victims of human trafficking.

To access The Zur Institute and order this online course just follow this link and the given directions.
